Global Ash Handling Systems Market: Industry Analysis Outlook By Size, Share, Growth, Trends And Forecast 2018-2025

Press Release

Ash handling systems are mostly used in thermal power plants since this is the place where maximum ash is generated. Thermal power plants all over the world use coal as their predominant source of energy. Due to its lower cost and easier availability, it has been preferred over other means of fuel. The problem with using coal as the main source of energy is that most of the coal is not of high quality. Their latent heat is lower and ash content is high. In a thermal power plant, the ash generated can be about 30%-40% of the fuel used. If this ash escapes the plant, it becomes a major concern for the environment. Hence there is a need to control the disposal of ash coming out of these plants. This ash can be used in many fields like agriculture, mines and metallurgy and hence proper disposal of this ash becomes very important.

Apart from the thermal power plants, cogeneration plants also use ash handling system. Plants with huge energy requirements like steel and aluminium plants also need ash handling plants. An ash handling system contains several parts such as a conveyor, scraper, dust collector, storage silos and other parts. Scraper chain gathers ash from the bottom of the boiler and the conveyor system transfers the ash out of the boiler. After all the processes are complete, a crusher converts the residue for easy handling and transportation of the ash contents.

Market Dynamics
Due to the increase in industrialization and number of developing countries all over the globe, energy demands have continuously risen up. This has given rise to the number of thermal plants installed each year. Furthermore, in every country, there exists a number of old thermal plants. These thermal plants built with generations old technology are major sources of pollution due to insufficient combustion of the fuel used. Hence the demand for ash handling systems has been constantly increasing. Many government bodies have also taken steps and created policies towards the disposal of ash from these plants. To comply with these regulations, factories need to employ ash handling plants.

Market Segmentation
Global ash handling systems market can be segmented either by the type of technology used or on the type of ash handled. On the basis of the type of technology, the market is further subdivided into coarse air handling system, bottom ash handling system, coarse air handling system and air preheat ash handling system. On the basis of the type of ash to be handled, the market is further subdivided into dry ash and wet ash.

Regional/Geographic Analysis
Ash handling system is used in nearly every part of the world. One of its biggest user is the USA which produces more than 100 million tons of ash each year through its thermal power plants. Developing countries like India, Brazil that depend a lot on energy requirement also use ash handling system to dispose of their ash. Europe is also one of the biggest users of ash handling plants.

In every country, a large number of old power plants exist. Along with this new power plants are installed every year to meet the rising demand for energy. These older power plants with old technology produce a large amount of ash due to insufficient combustion. Furthermore, no matter how efficient the process, some ash will always be generated. This presents a great market for ash handling plants. Also due to many government regulations, it is now mandatory to install these ash handling plants. So, the future for this market seems really appealing.
